Magicians preserved magic material, called "pupuk", in different receptacles. The Toba especially used buffalo horn ("nasa marsarang") for it. They were closed by such stoppers. Similar equestrian figures were fixed on top of magic staffs, called "tungkot malehat", but in that case they were mostly accompanied by "singa" and several smaller figures.
