Philippines - Ifugao, Kababuyan Village
wood, sightly encrusted black patina, rising from a massive, indented base, the stylized body arranged frontal and symmetrical, a hole on top of the head closed by a wooden plug and hair, min. dam., cracks, slight traces of abrasion; the ritual sequence associated with the production of "bulul" images is long, elaborate, and requires considerable expenditure of resources. During activation ceremonies the "bulul" figures are bathed in the blood of a sacrificed pig, and at the conclusion of the ritual the figures are placed in the granary. They are associated with the production of bountiful harvests, capable of miraculously increasing the rice before and after it is stored in the granary. They are usually made in pairs, one male and one female. They are inherited by the first child of the family, along with associated rice fields.

Philippines - Ifugao
consisting of two boar tusks, joined by plaited plant fibre weave, a sitting "bulul" figure attached, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion; was worn around the upper arm. Ifugao is a landlocked province of the Philippines in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon. It is named after the term "i-pugo" which means "i" (from/people) and "pugo" (earth), thus "people of the earth".

horn, wood, animal hair, encrusted dark brown patina, stopper in shape of a human figure riding on a water buffalo (?), coiffure of animal hair, leather strap for support, min. dam., minor missing parts, on base; after his magic staff and the magic book "pustaha", the medicine horns "naga marsarang", also known as "sahan", where the most important ritual paraphernalia of the "datu" priest. These remarkable objects were used to store the magical substance known as "raja ni pagar".
