wood, shiny patina, composed from various lumbers of different colours, partly stretched with leather, on each side two enamel buttons with flower motifs, front and back decorated with elaborate mother of pearl inlay, min. dam., fissures, traces of abrasion and usage; mongolian saddles are a challenge, not only for amateurs. The front and the back is very high and thick silver buttons on each side make the rider stand. Probably this was a kind of tactic developed under Genghis Khan allowing the rider to overcome long distances without getting sore.

wood, three-parted (head, right arm and base), coated with plaster and polychrome paint, a footstool-like base with rock-like surface, supporting the figure of a warrior in gorgeous armament: broad-shouldered, showing an authoritative, nearly violent pose with the right fist upraised in a threatening gesture and the knitted brows creating a ferocious expression on the face, the mouth opened to an admonishing scream, the menacing gesture enhanced by the figures dynamic, the vestments hems boldly following the fierce movement, slightly dam., minor missing parts (hair, clothes hems, finger of the left hand), vertical crack (front side of the body), plaster coating missing in parts, abrasion of paint; the figure was part of a couple, originally placed at the entrance door of a buddhistic temple. Deriving from the antique hinduistic mythology, the guardian figures were adopted by the Buddhists. They should admonish the visitors of adequate behaviour when entering the temple. They always show terrifying facial expressions and are provided with strong muscles.

one arrow head of walrus ivory, l: 5 cm; the second one of wood, l: 5 cm, with inventory number "AR 6918" (A. Pitt Rivers), both of them with minor missing parts; miniature sculpture (arctic fox ?) of wood, l: 8,5 cm, remains of thick encrusted dark brown patina in some areas; harpoons were used for hunting seals. The tips dissolved from the rest of the harpoon as soon as an animal was hit.
