wood, polychromic paint, separate carved arms, european facial traits and clothing, slightly dam., cracks, abrasion, on metal plate; representing an European (coiffure with side-parting, narrow and tapering nose, indicated moustache). Common to all these figures is their origin in the contact between Europeans and Africans.

wood, shiny brown patina, remains of indigo blue pigment, necklace with miniature glass beads, min. dam., fissures, on base; alike the "ibeji" figures of the Yoruba, the "venavi" figures were carved for deceased twins or triplets. They serve as abode for the spirit of the deceased. The Ewe women used to care for them, they were feeded, washed and caressed. For the Ewe venerate twins and look upon them as connection to the otherworld.

light brown wood, spotty patina, remains of white paint, a rectangular base, carved with an elephant, supporting a vaulted seat on top, min. dam., cracks, slight signs of abrasion and usage certain designs of stools were restricted to particular ranks or roles within Akan society and some were carved for the exclusive use of the Asantehene and never sold on the open market, a restriction enforced by death penalty.
