Philippines - Ifugao
wood, greyish-black patina, a male and a femele figure in homogenous posture rising from cubic bases, eyes with grey stone inlay, holes in the parting, missing parts (both bases), paint rubbed off, cracks; "bulul" figures are associated with the production of bountiful harvests, capable of miraculously increasing the rice before and after it is stored in the granary. They are usually made in pairs, one male and one female. They are inherited by the first child of the family, along with associated rice fields.

horn, wood, animal hair, shiny dark brown patina, stopper in shape of an equestrian figure, coiffure of animal hair, min. dam., fissures, slight traces of abrasion; after his magic staff and the magic book "pustaha", the medicine horns "naga marsarang", also known as "sahan", where the most important ritual paraphernalia of the "datu" priest. These remarkable objects were used to store the magical substances known as "raja ni pagar".

Indonesia - Borneo, Bahau Dayak
wood, greyish brown patina, flat vaulted calotte, an elongated snout with indicated tusks and movable jaw, fixed by plant fibre, bamboo cross bar on the back for fixing the mask with the mouth (traces of use), slightly dam., paint rubbed off; representing a wild pig, a particular garden pest. During planting rituals, the ancestors were asked to protect growing crops and keep these pests away from garden plots.

limestone, square stone seat in the shape of a mythical bird with three dragon heads "lasara", as symbol of the lower world, while the composite bird tails are symbol of the higher world, rising from four feet, slightly dam., minor missing parts, rep. (dragon head and birds tail on the left); this monster, called "lasara", symbolized the underworld. Here it has birds tails, symbolizing the upperworld and possibly suggesting cosomological totality.

10 Male ancestor figure "adu zatua"

Indonesia - Nias
wood, matt blackish brown patina, a high towering crown-shaped head ornament with coiled fern ornaments "ni 'o wöli wöli" and hanging earring, slightly dam.; the people of Nias believe that the spirits of the dead possess supernatural power and are able to influence the living in a positive or negative way. By venerating "adu zatua", wooden images carved in their likeness, they try to appease the spirits and keep them well-disposed.
