Peru, Moche

copper, two nearly identical formed faces with large projecting ears, a pair of drilled holes on the upper rim for support, slightly dam., traces of corrosion, on pedestal; although gold was undoubtedly the most prestigious metal in ancient Peruvian cultures in terms of its symbolic content and cultural value, the Moche valued copper highly and placed large numbers of copper objects into important burials.

Peru, Vicus

clay, painted reddish brown, hollow figure, four drilled holes, min. dam., minor missing parts, slight traces of abrasion; it was only at the beginning of the 60s of the 20th century that Vicus one of the early Peruvian cultures was archeologically discovered.

117 Zoomorphic bowl "kinahu"

Philippines - Ifugao

wood, dark brown patina, ring-shaped base, notched decor at the rim, plant fibre loop for support, slightly dam., crack at the base spread with mass; bowls of zoomorphic shape are called "kinahu" - meaning "in the shape of a beast". Some "kinahu" were used for ceremonial purposes, while most of them served as meat containers or for storing pure salt.

wood, dark brown patina, a quadruped rising from a small base, its features reminding of a "singa" head, elegant curved forms, dam., missing parts (head and body right hand side), on metal plate; probably once decorating the stopper of a medicine container or the handle of a sword "mandau".
