metal wood, elaborate wooden hilt "lasara", wooden scabbard decorated with metal sheet and attachment in form of a wooden bowl filled with rattan, animal claws and -teeth, min. dam., slight traces of usage; "lasara" is a mythical figure linked to the god of death and darkness. In the south of Nias it takes the shape of a fanciful head with teeth of a wild bear, the mouth of a crocodile or snake, crowned by a calao helmet and the antlers of a deer.

wood, shiny blackish brown patina, a high towering crown-shaped head ornament with coiled fern motifs "ni 'o wöli wöli" and hanging earring, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion; the people of Nias believe that the spirits of the dead possess supernatural power and are able to influence the living in a positive or negative way. By venerating "adu zatua", wooden images carved in their likeness, they try to appease the spirits and keep them well-disposed.

wood, encrusted blackish brown patina, overlarge head, elongated upper part of the body with cavity for insertion of magical mass, short legs, ornamental ears, slightly dam., minor missing parts, cracks, traces of weathering at the bottom, mounted on pedestal; the wooden plugs in the figures flank served for attachment of clappers, which were used to alert the village community by beating against the levitating figure. For present figure represents a defensive or alarm figure, which was suspended headfirst from the roof gables or somewhere inside the house. The opening in the breast area served the "datu" for inserting the magical mass "pupuk", which enlivened the figure and first made it a "pangulubalang", a protective figure.
