we would like to invite you to our upcoming 51st tribal art auction.
Saturday, 2007 September 22 – 2 pm
Preview:
Saturday, September 15 to Friday, September 21 – 10 am to 7 pm
Saturday, September 22 – 9 am to 12 am
On sale there will be a rare pair of ancestor Basikasingo figures (lot 474), provenance Lore Kegel and Dr. Georg Kegel-Konietzko, Hamburg. A further highlight will be the ancestor figure from the Fang people of Gabon (lot 457) from an old private german missionary collection.
We also would like to draw your attention on two more objects: the reliquary guardian figure "mbulu" / "mwete" of the Kota people, Gabon (lot 459) as well as the "deangle" mask of the Dan, Côte d'Ivoire (lot 249).
