wood, encrusted blackish brown patina, traces of pigment, carrying a slightly hollowed circular crest on the head, abundant scarification marks, dam., insect caused missing parts (neck, back, above all area of legs and base), rep. (breakage: right arm), collection number "AJP 1373" on white ground (headdress), base;
possibly a depiction of "nommo", wearing a wooden bowl on the head serving as protection of the sun and for eating as well. "Nommo" are called the eight messengers sent down to earth by the creator-god "amma" in order to generate the human race.
