Wooden mosaic, c. 1880, monogrammed.,
Johann Adelhard had made the picture from approx. of several thousand veneer plates, or, as he or, as he wrote himself, "little wooden stones", put together. Johann Adelhard (1850-1927) was a cabinetmaker and cabinetmaker and inventor in Nuremberg. His wooden mosaics consist of 2,000 to 8,000 pieces of wood and 30-60 partly domestic domestic and partly overseas species of wood. The model here was probably a drawing by the architect and painter Christian Hinderer, (1853 Stuttgart - 1929 Nuremberg).

The old synagogue in the Hans-Sachs-Platz in Nuremberg was demolished in 1938.
