This dance crest is particularly impressive because of the naturalistic way it is presented.
All comparable anthropomorphic dance crests that could be found in the literature are from a very early period.
One crest, for example, which is in the Ethnological Museum in Berlin, was collected on site by the famous German ethnologist Leo Frobenius (1873-1938) (AHDRC 0154903). A second is in the Völkermuseum in Leipzig (AHDRC 0090541) and a third in the Paolo Morighi Collection (AHDRC 0090539).
