wood, polychrome oil paint, round staff with a grooved surface, dyed in different colours, carved with a stylized crocodile in half relief, dam., missing parts (handle), traces of insect caused damage (base), crack (nails inserted for fixing), paint rubbed off in some areas;
in Westafrican art the crocodile is often associated with chiefdom.
