The Massai of northern Tanzania and southern Kenya, are noted for beadwork crafted by women and worn by all members of the group regardless of age or sex.
Beaded jewelry, garments, and other accessories serve to identify a persons place in society. Many of their designs and colours carry symbolic meaning.
