wood, whitened with kaolin, which is rubbed off in some areas so that the black grounding becomes visible, elongated see slits flanking a flat nose with circular drilled holes, min. dam., missing parts through insect caused damage, slight traces of abrasion;
descendants of those who brought "kindi" into a given area own the "muminia" mask. Each community has only one mask of this type. It must be present for initiations into all levels to occur. It is the only mask to appear in the first initiation into "bwami" and takes on both a positive and negative persona. It represents a powerful high-level member of "bwami" and a troublemaker.
