wood, the female strongly marked by insect caused damage and cracks, the patina stronger rubbed off - the male figure more evenly covered by rich black patina.
The female "jo nyeleni" figures play an important role for initiation rites of young men. Depicted as a couple of male/female, they might represent "the primordial couple".
