The Rotse (Barotse, Lozi) have their homeland in western Zambia on the banks of the Upper Zambezi. For a long time they were under the cultural influence of the Lunda, Chokwe, and Luena.
They are mainly known for making beautiful utilitarian objects such as bowls, spoons and jars, the lids of which are often decorated with animals, figures and figurative scenes.
