wood, reddish patina, remains of pigments, min. dam., small missing parts, fine cracks, slight traces of abrasion, base; in the 17th century the Chamba settled south of the Benue nearby the Jukun. Statuettes of the Chamba are quite rare. The staff-like "tauwa" figures can be found more frequently. Present couple probably representing ancestors.
