Masque à cornes "konon buene"

wood, slightly shiny black patina, unusual mask face, small and narrow, with projecting button eyes and elongated nose bridge, proportionally broad oval mouth with jagged inner rim, horns horizontally projecting backwards, mask face superimposed to large bowl-shaped base, inscribed on the backside "N-650", slightly dam., abrasion of paint (nosebridge, mouth), base;
the Guro call this mask with goat horns "konon buene". The mask type was invented by the Wan, then adopted by the Guro and Baule for the "goli" masquerade and dance.
